History
The Arizona Training & Evaluation Center, Inc. (AZTEC) is a private, nonprofit, 501(c)(3), organization providing educational, employment related, day services, residential, home and community based services and supports to individuals with disabilities.
AZTEC was established in October 1979 to provide programs, services and supports to those individuals with developmental disabilities who had not been previously served in a community based program. AZTEC, working closely with the Arizona Department of Economic Security - Division of Developmental Disabilities (DES-DDD) and Department of Economic Security - Rehabilitation Services Administration (DES-RSA), and Native American Tribes, has displayed a philosophy and a program of services which has met the need to serve those individuals.
It is the philosophy of AZTEC that every human being, regardless of the level of their ability, has a right to develop to his or her maximum potential. Every individual is valuable and should be afforded the same dignity and respect as all other persons. This philosophy is achieved by public education, empowerment, promoting increased independence, and integrating individuals into the community.

AZTEC's programs and services are provided in the Arizona communities of Glendale, Peoria, West Phoenix, and surrounding communities.
