experiences, therapeutic activities to promote skill development, and
independent living, self-care, personal and social relationships. Services
are currently available in both in-home and facility based locations. Referrals

Employment
Services |
| |
The
Employment Services Program provides varying levels of training and work
in Facility based and community work sites, and includes job placement and competitive
employment opportunities. AZTEC works closely with local businesses
to provide individual and group work site opportunities for individuals.
Subcontract work, provided by local industries and businesses, assists in
the development of appropriate work habits, thereby increasing employment
potential and providing wages to individuals. |
| |
Transitional
and educational services and supports are also provided to local high school
students. The primary focus
of these services is to assist students to obtain and retain part-time or
full-time employment in the community. Referrals for these services are
made through DES-RSA and DES-DDD. |

Residential
Services |
| |
Residential
Services consist of a variety of community based residential options. One
such option is twenty-four (24) hour supervised group living arrangements
consisting of three to six individuals. These settings provide extensive
supports and training for children and adults who have self-care, behavioral
and/or medical needs and are tailored to increase skills while providing
for the needs of the individual. There are currently sites for men, women
and children. |
| |
As
individuals develop more independent self-help, living and community integration
skills, supports also emphasize self-advocacy, decision making and problem
solving resulting in less supervised living situations and/or support apartment
living. Referrals for this service are made through DES-DDD. |
